Provo senior Meghan Hunter concluded her outstanding prep track career in Utah by sweeping the 5A sprint titles for the second straight year.

Hunter ran 12.48 seconds and 24.78 seconds into head winds to win the 100-meter and 200-meter finals. She won the 400 in 54.04 seconds. In 2018, she added a fourth victory in the 800 meters but didn’t run that event this time.

Her 30 points helped Provo win the 5A girls team title.

In Class 6A, the Lone Peak girls used speed to roll to the team championship with a whopping 147 points. The 4x100 relay team ran 47.64 for the fastest time in the state. Senior Maddy Eaton ran 42.93 to win the 300-meter hurdles after taking the 100 meters title in 12.27. She was also fourth in the 200.

The Syracuse boys won the 4x100 and 4x400 relays on the way to the 6A team title.

Senior Nathan Kaufusi, junior Ty Burke and sophomore Bryson Cortes went 1-3-5 in the 100 meters final for Syracuse. Kaufusi was the dominant sprinter in 6A, adding titles in the 200 (21.75) and 400 (48.97).

Trevor Burrell contributed 10 points with a victory in the 300 hurdles.
